Well, that's a wrap on the final Grand Slam of the year.
What a night for Novak Djokovic as the 36-year-old equals Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam titles and becomes the oldest man to win a major tournament, with no signs of slowing down.

'I hope I can hold that trophy again some time'

Here's what US Open runner-up Daniil Medvedev had to say after his loss:
"I want to ask Novak, what are you still doing here?
"Jokes aside, it's my third final, maybe not the last I hope. Novak will probably be in many more - I don't know when you're planning to slow down a bit? Congrats to you and your team on 24, I feel like I had not a bad career and I have 20 titles and you have 24 Grand Slams. Wow.
"I was here two years ago when I won and I thought what a great [wedding] anniversary for my wife. Today not really. Our anniversary is the same date then and today so I thought come on, do it one more time.
"I want to thank everyone who supports me through this sometimes tough, sometimes easy, sometimes happy and sometimes sad journey."
On his rivalry with Djokovic:
"From one side I can say I beat Novak in a Grand Slam final, that is the pinnacle of my career so far. But I played five finals against him and Rafa [Nadal] and I only managed to win one of them soo I don't know if it's good or bad [rivalry].
"He pushes me to be better, I said in Australia that we met when I had played five finals and he was super kind to me. He treated me normal and he still does, 12 Grand Slams, 24, 30, nothing changed. That's something great you can say about a person."
And to the crowd:
"Thank you very much. You are amazing, this stadium is special. I came here and thought I want to play good here, I wanted to play well and feel the energy and I did. I really hope that one time I can hold that trophy again."
'Can Djokovic do this performance physically in Australia?'

I think he has for sure two more Wimbledons in him and heshould win one of these two. I think he has learned from that loss (to Carlos Alacraz)and he won’t lose to him again on grass.
I really believe he’s got to put his name in the hat inAustralia. Depends on his draw and the heat. Can he do this kind of performancephysically? I don’t know. That’s the challenge.
The tennis is in him but I don’twant to see him walking through the locker room on a cane. I got a little scaredtonight about his performance.

He certainly is laying down a marker for what is possible inhis career and I don’t think he’s stopping any time soon. Why would he? It wasalmost a perfect season.
I feel like today it was interesting the way the crowdresponded to him. There was just that little bit more love and a bit moreappreciation and understanding of him.
I do hope that at some time he really gets it – I think itwill take for Feeder and Nadal to be out of the way. I think he is slowlygetting there.
But why would he not continue when he is achieving what heis achieving? When he starts to lose to some of the young guns coming throughin early rounds of Grand Slams he might start to think my time has passed.
But he might go on and win a couple more next year.

The scary thing about Novak Djokovic is that he is fully aware that he stands on the cusp of history, he wants to break all of those records and, based on this form, he could go for several more years at this level.

"I don't know where to start, this means the world to me. I'm repeating myself but I have to say every time that I'm living my childhood dream to compete at this highest level.
"This sport has given my family so much. Wars in our countries in the 1990s and being able to do this, sacrificing so much, especially my parents, to support me to play a sport that was very expensive at that time. Not accessible, not affordable, but I fell in love with tennis.
"No one in my family played tennis but incredible resilience and belief from my family. My wife, my kids, my team, this is your trophy as much as it is mine.
"To make history on this court is truly remarkable and special, in every way and every meaning of the word special. I had a dream when I was seven - I wanted to become the best player in the world and win Wimbledon that was the only thing I wanted.
"But I started to dream new dreams, I never imagined I would be standing talking about 24 Grand Slams but the last couple of years I've felt I have a chance and I have a shot at history and why not grab it."

It's a sight we've seen many times before. Djokovic lifts the trophy above his head as the cameras flash and the crowd cheer his latest historic victory.

I think (he is thegreatest of all time). How can you argue with these numbers? Two more than RafaelNadal. Four more than Roger Federer, and he’s not done yet.
He’s got the same number as Margaret Court and let’s behonest, they were registered at a time when tennis was a different sport. Muchof them was at the Australian Open when there wasn’t a huge amount of competition.
What Novak has done, particularly because he has had to comeafter Federer and Nadal, play against them when they have been at their best.
He had to hunt them down , despite being considerably lesspopular with the crowds, take on crowds.
He was feeling it physically in that second setand he finds a way.

We’ve seen something here that no-one will ever see again.This is an incredible moment.
We have seen so much resilience and how he dug so deep inthat second set, we will never know. I don’t think any other human could havedone what he did in this second set and be able to stumble through it,fall over many times and come back again, and again and again.
This was a kid who grew up playing tennis in an emptyswimming pool and he became the greatesttennis player of all time. You can try to psychoanalyse all you want but thefact it he has put all the pieces of the puzzle together. He can’t get anybetter.

Time for the presentations.
Daniil Medvedev is first to speak, and is still able to wear a smile and have a joke despite his defeat.
He says Djokovic pushes him to be better and is very complimentary about the Serb, who he says made him feel welcome on the Tour from early in his career.
He also points out that Djokovic's 24 Grand Slams seem even more remarkable considering the Russian has won 20 titles across his entire career.

If he can take the legs of a man nine years his junior in agrand slam final at 36 we have a strong feeling that Novak Djokovic is not doneyet.
It is another one of those emotional nights for verydifferent reasons.
Watching Coco Gauff, that is the start of an exceptionalcareer. Novak Djokovic is towards the end of a career that anyone has put together,but to see him put together a match they way he did against Daniil Medvedev,who is very fit and he beat him without dropping a set.

Novak Djokovic has a T-shirt featuring the late Kobe Bryant - and training jacket prepared with the number 24 shown proudly on them.
He knew it would come eventually, even if Carlos Alcaraz did deny him at the first opportunity at Wimbledon.
That five-set defeat is his only loss in Grand Slams this year.
He becomes the first man to win three Grand Slam titles in a season on as many as four occasions.
