In Fallout 76, the most annoying part of life in the wastelands isn't the radioactive mutants, deadly robots, or even the bugs (literal or otherwise). No, what is truly difficult is a daily quest to hack a terminal but not knowing where to find one or finding one at a level you can actually hack.

Fallout 76: Should You Pick Raiders Or Settlers?

Choosing between the Raiders and Settlers in Fallout 76 comes down to reputation and rewards.

Daily quests are meant to be quick, easy to accomplish, and worth doing for a nice incentive to return every day. Finding a terminal to hack into might be the least-liked daily task in Fallout 76, given terminals can be a pain to find.

Updated May 21, 2024, by Andrew Scariati: If you've come to Appalachia after finishing the Fallout show, you may need a few pointers on hacking terminals in Fallout 76. Fallout 76's hack-a-terminal minigame is similar to other series' iterations but is much friendlier if you make a mistake.

Whether you need hacking tips or a list of Fallout 76 terminal locations, you've come to the right place.

Hacker Terminal Locations In Fallout 76

Fallout 76: Hack A Terminal Locations And Levels (6)

Terminal levels range from zero to three, with only level zero terminals being accessible without investing in the Hacker perk.

Furthermore, getting the Hacker perk will allow you to hack level one terminals, but you need the Expert Hacker and Master Hacker cards equipped to hack level two and three terminals, respectively.

Hacking 50 terminals will also unlock the Code Cruncher trophy/achievement.

Hacking General TipsFallout 76: Hack A Terminal Locations And Levels (7)

There are a few things to keep in mind as you begin hacking terminals in Fallout 76:

  1. You have four attempts to get the correct password, or you will be ejected from the terminal and have to try again.
  2. Keep track of the correct letters guessed and eliminate any words that don't have the same number of matching characters.
  3. Your first guess should be a word similar to one or two others, as that often indicates it has a chance of being correct.
  4. You can equip and un-equip perk cards from your menu, so feel free to swap your Expert/Master Hacker perk cards into your loadout when there is a terminal in front of you.
  5. Use a terminal to unlock doors you have already lockpicked for extra XP.

Other Fallout games would lock you out of terminals if you failed to get the correct password, but these terminals merely eject you for a few seconds.

  • Also at Morgantown Airport, the Storage Room controls.

  • At the Fuel Storage RoomTerminal, also in the Poseidon Energy Plant.
  • In the Landview Lighthouse keeper's home (Lighthouse Keeper's Terminal).

If you're looking to use that powerful and not-so-accurate gun in Fallout 76, here's the best way to do it.

Level One Fallout 76 Terminal Locations

  • At the Fujiniya Intelligence Base — go under Mama Dolce's, through the hatch, and turn right.
  • Also in the Fujiniya Intelligence Base, go down the three flights of stairs and find it next to a locked caged.
  • At Dyer Chemical — go to the right of the complex inside the building with the two chimneys and the sign to find the Supervisor's Terminal.
  • At the Red Rocket Mega Stop (the Maintenance Terminal).
  • On the second floor of Sals Grinders in Beckley.
  • At the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Silos at these terminals.
    • The Security Terminal
    • The Mainframe Access Terminal
    • The Maintenance Office Terminal
  • Within Room 2 of the Sunnytop Ski Lanes.
  • Inside the shed just north of Flooded Trainyard.
  • In the Train Tickets building at New Appalachian Central Trainyard.
  • Inside the Watoga Civic Center.
  • Inside the Charleston Fire Department, follow a corridor through to the garage. The terminal controls a locked security gate.

Level Two Fallout 76 Terminal Locations

  • At the Watoga Transit Hub Terminal.
  • Within the Watoga Emergency Services at the Engineer's Terminal.
  • At the Manager's Terminal inside Appalachian Antiques, near Watoga.
  • At the Headmaster's Terminal within Watoga High School.
  • At the Cafe Terminal in the Drumlin Diner, Watoga.
  • At the Ranger's Station Terminal in Cranberry Bog.
  • At the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Silos at these terminals.
    • The Security Station Terminal
    • The Mainframe Terminal
    • The Mainframe Access Terminals (Two within proximity of each other.)
  • At the Admin Office Terminal of the Garrahan Mining Headquarters.
  • At the Train Watchtower Terminal at the Flooded Trainyard. Be aware that Dusky & Glowing Yao Gui inhabit this location, which are levels 66 and 76, respectively.
  • In Kerwood Mine at the Foreman's Terminal. This terminal requires the Kerwood mine key to access.
  • At the Fort Defiance Terminal. This one requires access to the BOS location behind the laser grid.
  • In the Monongah Mine at the Mining Supervisor's Terminal.

Monongah Mine and Fort Defiance are resource-rich spots where you can farm screws and other items while you're hunting terminals.

Level Three Fallout 76 Terminal Locations

  • At the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Silos at these terminals.
    • The Foyer Terminal
    • The Monitoring Station
    • The Security Command Terminal
    • The Mainframe Access Terminal
    • The Security Station Terminal
  • The Gun Range Terminal is found on the third floor of the Garrahan Estate.

While there are certainly more hackable terminal locations out there in the wastelands of Fallout 76, these should be enough to get you through any hacking-related quests you may have, no matter what level you're at.
