I just love it when products work as advertised. 🙂
My post-Hawaii tan hasn’t shown any signs of peeling, and I think Clinique deserves most of the credit.
I’ve been applying their After Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe ($20) once a day since getting back home on Monday.
The stuff’s not just your run ‘o the mill lotion. It’s designed to soothe and repair skin exposed to the sun, thereby minimizing peeling while moisturizing and cooling at the same time.
Even though I was good about using sunscreen on my trip, my skin still turned extra brown, and I was bracing myself for it to peel, particularly on my shoulders and arms.
Despite my best efforts and diligence after a trip to someplace sunny, I usually experience at least a little peeling.
But cooling Clinique After Sun Rescue Balm in place of my regular post-shower moisturizer seems to have helped.
It has a subtle mint fragrance, absorbs fast and doesn’t leave a greasy film.
And the soothing cooling sensation from rubbing it in sure feels nice after a hot day in the sun. That alone *almost* makes it worth the $20 price.

Cat bathing 101
Thanks for your tips on cat cleaning! I still haven’t given Tabs his bath, but now I’m armed with knowledge, ha!
He still smells of Eau De Musky Cat Butt, but it has faded somewhat since Monday. If he’s still stinky this weekend, I’ll give him his bath. I’m thinking of using this stuff I found at Petsmart. It comes in a Vanilla Bean scent. 🙂
Do you have plans for the weekend? Friday, here we come!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oh, I think I might get this! I have a horrible habit of not putting sunscreen on when I’m at the beach and when I do, I forget to reapply. Thanks for sharing, Karen!
How was your trip?

Hi Lindsay,
Sure thing!
One thing that I’ve found helpful is the spray sunscreens. They apply so fast and barely take any effort to rub in. It’s great for when you’re feeling lazy/forgetful. 🙂
My trip was good! Though I’m happy to be back home, I miss the warm weather and my fam. What’s new with you? Got any exciting weekend plans?

Hi Karen,
Planning to go to Bali, but not confirmed yet. Still waiting for our friends from the UK to arrive then we’ll decide! 😉
Btw, the new Clinique offer here is not as good as the offer of the GWP retro makeup pouch plus loads of other freebies you are having over there(which you featured several weeks ago).

Hi Vonvon,
How exciting! That’s on my list of places to visit. I hope you get to go.
That’s a bummer that your GWP is different — what goodies are up in the mix? I hope there’s at least some good stuff…

Even with spf 45 my arms were super dry after a week in the sun. Good luck bathing your cat. My only suggestion is don’t do it alone.
