Boston closing Canal Street for NBA Finals games, hosting watch parties for away games
WELL, THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME THE GARDEN WILL HOST WATCH PARTIES. TICKETS WILL BE JUST $18 AND ORGANIZERS ARE HERE OR HERE ARE TRYING TO CREATE THE SAME SORT OF ENERGY THAT’S HERE FOR HOME GAMES. THEY THEY DESERVE THIS. THEY’VE EARNED IT. THEY ARE AN INCREDIBLE TEAM AND IT MEANS SO MUCH FOR US TO BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE THEM, NOT ONLY WHEN THEY’RE HERE AT HOME, BUT ALSO WHEN THEY’RE AWAY. ALL OF THE CHEERING HERE AT TD GARDEN WILL CERTAINLY WORK UP AN APPETITE FOR FANS AND THE CHEFS HERE AT LEGENDS WILL HAVE THEM COVERED. SO EVERY ROUND THE TEAM GOES FURTHER IN. WE ALWAYS TRY TO ELEVATE THE FOOD QUALITY AS WELL AS THE CREATIVITY, AND REALLY TRY TO THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX, FROM THE MERCHANDISE TO THE DRINKS AND THE FOOD. BUT THIS DOES MAKE ME HUNGRY. Boston is preparing to host the first two games of the NBA Finals between the Celtics and Dallas Mavericks starting on Thursday, with plans to host special events for every game of the series. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said the city will again close Canal Street to make a car-free experience for fans again during both Games 1 and 2, which the Celtics will be playing at home, and during Games 3 and 4, which will be in Dallas. Additionally, Wu announced the TD Garden will host watch parties for away games inside the arena.Tickets for the watch parties will go on sale Wednesday, Wu said. Tickets will be available for $18 through Ticketmaster. "Game 3 and Game 4 will be broadcast live in the arena with as much of the live NBA game experience as possible," Wu said. "That means Celtics entertainment, merchandise and concessions."For Canal Street, which the city will call the Finals Hub, police will close the street to vehicles from 4 p.m. through midnight on game days.
