On the west coast of Cotentin, Barneville-Carteret, classified city, opposite the island of Jersey, is a place renowned for marine and family vacations.

From the beginning of the "vogue of sea bathing, Carteret has become a lively and bustling resort. This time, she kept the hotels, villas and parks. Beach Barneville then developed between the harbor and a long sandy beach. Between these two poles, the ancient village of Barneville frame hillcrest, is dominated by the square tower fortified Romanesque church.

The label "Blue Flag" is awarded each year for clean beaches and the marina.

• The muna wase choir was founded by conductor Christian Meli in Vannes 22 years ago. - It is made up of over 30 singers who perform an Afro-Gospel repertoire. Exposition Photographies "L’eau de là... et d’Ailleurs" - Catherine Caux Le Marchand

Lemarchand: for the fourth year running, this talented photographer returns to the Chapelle Saint-Louis in Barneville-Carteret. - From July 13 to 18, the artist will present a "rétr-eau-spective" with new photographs. The water of the Cotentin, whether calm or raging, with its skies of tormented clouds or blazing suns, will rub shoulders with the calm and sometimes moving waters of a Landes lake. - This artist knows how to juggle light perfectly, taking all the time she needs to frame her images and offer us a unique vision of water: her own. - So come one, come all to drown your eyes and take a photographic bath in this invigorating water. • Barneville-Carteret hosts an exceptional event ! - Krystin Vesterälen, storyteller in the Cotentin region, accompanied by storytelling friends from Normandy, Brittany, Ile de France, Sarthe and Belgium, will be offering a night of storytelling ! - At the foot of the Carteret lighthouse, by moonlight, fall asleep listening to stories and legends: all night long, the storytellers will take turns to delight your ears and your spirits ! - All participants are invited to bring their own armchair, blanket, sleeping bag and warm clothes ? The evening will start at 8pm and finish around 8am the following morning ! It will of course be possible to leave the premises at any time. - For the preservation of the site, it will not be possible to eat. Only bottled water is allowed. - In case of bad weather, the event will be held at the Barneville-Carteret gymnasium.
